The 3rd Kyoto International Butoh Festival, held previously in 2018 and 2019, is even bigger this year, spreading over 5 days (December 14th to 18th). The Festival will host dancers, dance groups and musicians from Hokkaido in the north of Japan to Kyushu in the south and from all corners of the world including the United States, Mexico, China, Finland, Italy, Germany and Ukraine.
Each evening there will be 6 different performances followed by an after show discussion with a dance critic and guests. The audience will experience the depth and breadth of the butoh world. There will also be paid online streaming to bring Kyoto International Butoh Festival to a wider audience and crowdfunding to support this grand happening. A unique unmissable event happening here in Kyoto this December!
